Word for Today
I RISE
Theme Scripture:
“Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.”
— Micah 7:8 (NKJV)
Life isn’t always lived on mountaintops. There are valleys—places of failure, frustration, and even despair. Micah 7:8 speaks boldly from the heart of such a place, but it doesn’t end in defeat. It speaks of rising. It speaks of light. It speaks of a God who does not abandon us in the darkness.
The prophet Micah understood what it meant to stumble, to face opposition, to be surrounded by enemies and yet cling to hope. “Do not rejoice over me,” he declares. In other words, this isn’t the end. There’s a holy defiance in those words—a refusal to stay down, because he knows the One who lifts up the fallen.
“I will rise.”
Not maybe, not if things get better—but I will. That’s the confidence we have in Christ. Our comeback is not dependent on our strength, but on His faithfulness. We may fall seven times, but with God, we rise again and again.
Life will knock you down. Trials will come. People may leave. The storm may rage. But your fall is not your finish.
The enemy often celebrates too soon — thinking your setback is your end. But the Word of God declares otherwise: “When I fall, I will arise.” This isn’t just a motivational quote — it’s a promise backed by Heaven.
Just like Jesus rose on the third day, you too carry resurrection power through the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:11 says, “If the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ… will also give life to your mortal bodies.” That means your comeback is not only possible — it’s promised.
You may have faced the fire, but Isaiah 43:2 reminds you that it won’t burn you. You may have walked through the valley, but Psalm 23:4 assures you He walks with you. And when the darkness surrounds you, Psalm 3:3 declares that God is the “lifter of your head.”
So today, speak this over your life:
“I rise from the ashes. I rise from the pain. I rise from the shame. I rise from fear and defeat — because Christ lives in me.” when the enemy thought he had me bound, God said, “Get up!”Greater is He that is in you that He that is in the world.
I rise because greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I rise because the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in me. I rise because I am not forgotten, I am not forsaken, I am not finished — I am being formed!
Yes, I was pressed, but not crushed. Persecuted, not abandoned. Struck down — but guess what? Not destroyed! I’ve cried tears, but I did not drown in them. I’ve walked through fire, but I did not burn. I’ve been in the valley — but the valley did not define me! It refined me!
I rise because purpose is still calling. Destiny is still waiting. Heaven is still watching. And God is still working!
People of God, you may have stumbled — but you’re not stuck. You may have fallen — but you are not finished. Don’t let the tomb fool you — resurrection is in your DNA!
And when we find ourselves in the dark—confused, lost, hurt—we are not alone. “The Lord will be our light.” His presence breaks through shadows. His love is a lamp to our feet. He doesn’t just watch from afar; He steps into our night and becomes our dawn.
So stand tall, square your shoulders, lift your head, and declare:
“This is my season to rise!”
“This is my moment to shine!”
“This is my time to walk in power, authority, and victory!”
Let every chain be broken! Let every lie be silenced! Let every voice of defeat be shut down — because the King of Glory is lifting me up!
And if God be for me — WHO can be against me?
I rise, not by my strength,
I rise, not by might,
But by the Spirit of the Lord!
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!
Let the warriors arise!
Let the worshipers rise up!
Let the overcomers RISE!
This is your season to rise in strength, rise in faith, rise in confidence, and rise in purpose. Your fall was just part of the process. But your rise is part of God’s promise.
God bless you.
Prayer: I Rise
Father in Heaven,
Today, we rise—not by our might, not by our power, but by Your Spirit.
we rise from every failure that tried to bury me.
we rise from every lie that told us we wouldn’t make it.
we rise from every bondage of fear, shame, and regret.
Because You are the lifter of our head and the strength of our heart, I rise.
Though we have stumbled, we are not destroyed.
Though we’ve walked through darkness, we have not been forsaken.
Your light shines on us, within us, and before us.
What was meant to break us will only build us
What tried to silence us will amplify my testimony.
we rise in purpose.
we rise in power.
we rise in the confidence that You are with us and for us
we are not what the enemy says we are —we are who you say we are.
Let every step we take from this day forward be guided by Your hand.
Let Your Word be our foundation, and Your Spirit our fire.
we are not defined by our past—we are refined by it.
The pit was real, but so our rising.
Today, I rise… in Jesus’ mighty name.
Amen.
